On the Relative Lengths of the Sides of Convex Nonagons

Abstract

It was proved that every convex pentagon has a relatively short side and a relatively long side, and it was shown that there exists a convex hexagon which doesn't have any relatively short side, while every convex hexagon has a relatively long side. In this paper we show that there exists a convex nonagon which doesn't have any relatively long side and there exists another convex nonagon which doesn't have any relatively short side.
