Yangtze River Cruise Tour

　

    The full name of Three Gorges project is Three Gorges multipurpose water control project(Qu’tang Gorge, the Wu Gorge and the Xi’ling Gorge). The whole project includes a concrete gravitational dam, a sluice gate, a latter dike hydroelectric power station, a perpetual navigation ship lock and a ship lift. The building of the project is made up of three parts the dam, the factory building and opening-navigation building .The top of the dam is 3035 meters long and 185 meters nigh. There're 26 machines, 14 on the left and 12 on the right. A small wheel generating set has a front row capacity of 700,000kws. The total installed capacity is 1,820 kW/h. Annual generated energy reaches 84.7 billion kW/H. The navigation building locates at the left bank, including a double -lined and five -package consecutive ship lock and a first -rate vertical ship -lift.

 

 

Day 1 Beijing / Chongqing
Fly from PEK / CKG（Dep. 11:45 / Arr. 14:05）on arrival, you can go aboard first and then visit Ciqikou and enjoy the night view of the city; Hot pot dinner(recommend)

    Ciqikou(Porcelain Village): The history of Ci Qi Kou can be traced back for more than 1700 years. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368-1911) it was famous for its production of porcelain.

                   

Day 2 On the Yangtze River
At 09:00, depart from Chongqing. And excursion to Fengdu from 15:00-18:00.

   Fengdu: Located on the northern bank of the Yangtze River, about 170Kms downstream from Chongqing. Fengdu got its reputation as the "Ghost City" in the Eastern Han Dynasty. Two officials from the imperial court: Wang Fangping and Yin Changsheng, got bored with the political life in the court and came to Mt. Minshan outside Fengdu City to practice Taoist teachings. Both of them later became immortals by carrying out self-cultivation. This story widely spread and Mt. Minshan became famous. When combined together, their surnames Yin and Wang, sound very much like "King of Hell" in Chinese. Hence the people began to call Fengdu the "Ghost City".

 

Day 3 On the Yangtze River
Excursion to Fengjie from 8:00-10:30. And after that you can see the Wu Gorge, Qutang Gorge(passing); After lunch, you can excursion to Shengnong Stream from 14:00 to 17:30.

    Fengjie is the first city at the western end of the Yangtze Three Gorges and situated at the entrance of Qutang Gorge. This is a famous ancient town with a history of more than 2,000 years on the northern bank of the Yangtze River in the eastern part of Chongqing city.

    Shennong Stream, a tributary of the Yangtze River, rises in the southern part of Shennongjia Natural Reserve. With crystal clear steam flows swiftly from north to south through deep gorges, a sampan tour will allow you to experience a speedy adventure along this newly opened unspoiled river.

 

Day 4 On the Yangtze River
Passing the Xiling Gorge at 6:00 and arrive in Yichang at 11:30. Drive to Wuhan. After checking in, you can enjoy the Huanghe(yellow crane) Tower and local food.

   

    Yellow Crane Tower, located on Snake Hill in Wuchang, is one of the "Three Famous Towers South of Yangtze River. Legend has it that in Wuchang, there used to be a wine shop opened by a young man named Xin. One day, a Taoist priest, in gratitude for free wine, drew a magic crane on the wall of the shop and instructed it to dance whenever it heard clapping. Thousands of people came to see the spectacle and the wine shop was always full of guests. After 10 years, the Taoist priest revisited the wine shop. He played the flute and then rode on the crane to the sky. In memory of the supernatural encounter and the priest, the Xins built a tower and named it Yellow Crane Tower.

 

Day 5 Wuhan / Beijing
