The Riordan group is a useful tool for many combinatorial enumeration problems. The two main types involve ordinary or exponential generating functions. Until recently the theory in the ordinary case was a bit richer but recently Emeric Deutsch has introduced a pair of first order differential equations for the exponential case which parallels some of the developments in the ordinary case. In this talk we will survey the field, present some examples, and show some of the applications of these new differential equations.
